It does not seem to be VBS season. There is college football on Saturday. During the week, the young people are in school. VBS will be from September 7th through the 10th. The VBS committee thought that it would be wise to attempt to do a VBS during September. Instead of having the VBS during the traditional week of the summer, it was hoped that the VBS could correspond with the CSI program. Also, the congregation could use the school to help advertise the VBS to the young people. We are excited to see this great opportunity come to fruition.
VBS season is one of the best times of year. Everyone comes together to help put on this production of drama, classes, snacks, and games. It is wonderful time of fellowship and unity. Relationships are strengthened, faith is encouraged, kids are inspired, and Christ is glorified. VBS is a time of getting people involved in the work of the Lord.
Along with the VBS program for the young people, there will be a class for the adults. Unfortunately, I will be the teacher, but hopefully we will have a good time. The class will be lighthearted and fun. And I promise that it will not run long either.
Please come this week and support VBS. If you do not have a job yet, we can find you one. We need your help. Also, please be inviting people to come and be with us for this great time.
VBS is coming at a great time for the congregation. We had 214 people at worship on Sunday morning. As we are growing rapidly, we need to be having events to get everyone involved.
