PUT ON THE CALENDAR

We are making wonderful progress at the Waynesboro congregation. We are moving in the right direction to win this community to Christ. We are taking the steps necessary to bring souls to Christ. It feels great to be involved with a living congregation. Here are a few good works that are happening.

You might have noticed that Jeff Duren was the teacher of the month for August. The elders of the congregation wanted to show appreciation for the hard work that the teachers are doing in instructing our young people in the word of God. In the first bulletin of each month, there will be a teacher that is interview for his service to the congregation. He or she will also be projected on the screen on Sunday morning so everyone in the congregation will know how proud we are of their humble service to the Lord.

We are excited to have a time of celebration for those who have been recently baptized into the Lord. We have had so many baptisms recently that we want to have a congregational party. The Angels, the community, and the church must be rejoicing over these people coming to the Lord. Luke 15:5-6 says, “And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!” If the town is partying over one sheep that is found in the wilderness, just think about the need to celebrate the salvation of one man or woman. It is a sad commentary on the church if there is more celebration over a lost sheep than there is a lost soul. On August 24th, Sunday morning, there will be a fellowship in honor of the newly baptized individuals.

It is nice to be active, to be alive, and to be growing. We need to keep up the good work. It was great to see 193 at worship on Sunday morning.
