There has been a ton of excitement at the congregation over the last week. There were two babies born. We rejoice with Cory and Bonnie Butler and David and Verna Lynn Miller on the births of Case and Sarah Lynn. Babies are always a blessing in life.
We rejoice with Jeff Ray who was baptized Wednesday Night by Mitchell Skelton. Mitchell studied with this family on Wednesday afternoon. On Sunday night, Jean, Heather and Ashley Ray were all baptized into the Lord for the remission of sins. This was a special night for this great family and for the congregation. As a congregation, we are given the job of encouraging and supporting these new Christians on their journey with the Lord. It was amazing watching this family dedicate their lives to the Lord. It is a night that I will never forget.
On Sunday, we had one of the best Sunday’s ever in the history of the Waynesboro congregation. Greg Griggs preached a powerful lesson by using songs that we sing to make his point. Greg has a difficult time reading because of some learning disabilities, but this does not stop him from desiring to preach the word. I am so proud of Greg. He is an inspiration to me as well as everyone else in the congregation. We are blessed to have someone with his tender and sincere heart. We had a prayer by Jerry Duren and he announced that Mike and Debbie Maples were placing membership with the congregation. This is a wonderful couple that is truly dedicated to the Lord. We are blessed to have them with us. Good things are happening at Waynesboro because of a team dynamic in ministry. As we grow, we must pray for the new people, for unity, and for the leadership. We are blessed to have experienced one of the best Sunday’s nights ever in the history of the congregation.
