A pasted message from Matthew!

Sunday night was a special time for the Waynesboro congregation. Everyone was honored to be with Lorene Brewer as we honored this wonderful woman of faith for her countless years of Christian service in teaching God’s Holy Word. It was extra special to have her family come and celebrate this event with the congregation. This congregation was given a wonderful gift in Miss Lorene.
“Miss Lorene, you have obviously been successful as a Bible class teacher throughout the years, what does it take to be successful in teaching the Bible in the church?” I asked. “Matthew, you have to truly love teaching, if you do not love it, stop it.” “This is a great slogan” I stated. “Matthew, a teacher has to love it because it takes commitment, dedication, and perseverance to be a successful Bible class teacher in the church.” “So what advice do you have for the next generation of Bible class teachers?” I asked. “Matthew, the most important thing is to stay with the Bible. Do not teach philosophy, opinions, or speculation; just let the Bible give the answers.” “This is great advice, do you have any more advice on this topic.” “Yes, Matthew, make sure you teach about commitment. People need to learn to commit to the Lord.” “I think you are right, Miss Lorene. It seems that people lack commitment in this day and age,” I said as I agreed with her.
She is an encouragement to the Bible teachers in this congregation. Thank you Miss Lorene for giving us the honor to reflect on all that you mean to us.
