There seems to be great momentum in the Waynesboro congregation. It seems that we are having one successful event after another. The Veteran’s Day event was a huge win. It was warming to hear the amount of thank you notes that the congregation received from this event. The momentum continued with the food drive that happened on Saturday. We served over one hundred families. A lot of family expressed joyful thanksgiving to the congregation for the food that we provided them. During the holiday season, this was a big help. A lot of these families need to provide Christmas gifts for the children. We helped these families not have as much of a grocery bill this month. This would free up much needed funds for the season. We really did more than provide food; we provided cheer and gifts for under the tree.
This was one of the best works for this congregation this year. Mitchell had a great idea in wanting to provide this service. The benevolence committee did an outstanding job in organizing and promoting this work. The members did a tremendous work in participating and volunteering. Everyone gets a big “A” for a job well done. The elders were extremely proud of this church’s accomplishment. Both Alan Bell and Bob Haggard made a public address about how thankful the elders were of the great work everyone did.
The next project that the congregation has on the agenda is a house warming for the Davis family. The Davis family lost a lot because of the move to Waynesboro. We want to have a house warming party on their behalf. This party will be December 19th. It would be great to help this family out.
After this house warming party is completed, there is an assignment for the whole congregation. You are to sit back and enjoy the holiday season. Soak up the family and friends time. Relax and enjoy the festivities. You deserve it because of all the hard work everyone has done to make this one of the best years ever for the congregation.
