Friends and family day is a wonderful event every year for the congregation. We always average in the 280 range. It is encouraging and uplifting to see the large number of people who make it a priority to be with us for worship. Many of these guests are family members and community friends that appreciate us enough to come and worship with us.

This year the elders are requesting everyone to make friends and family day a huge success. The elders desire everyone to be inviting and encouraging their friends and family to be with us for worship. Start asking people now to come on October 7th. The elders want this day to be the best ever. Because of this desire for a great friends and family day, the elders are requesting any ideas to make the day even better. The elders want your suggestions on how to improve this great day of worship and fellowship. We all need to put a lot of energy into this work of service.

It has been about a month since Hope and Chris Winton have moved to the Florence area. Hope has attended this congregation ever since she was two weeks old. We will certainly miss this family. If anyone would like to have the Winton’s new address, it is available. Also, Hope, Chris, and the kids are attending the Chisholm Hills congregation, where Charles Abernathy is the minister. The family will certainly be blessed to have the privilege of hearing Charles preach every week.

The marriage class had a great start and numerous people have commented that it has helped already. This week we will try to do a big screen with some more sound. This week we will talk about “Affair Proofing Your Marriage.” This is a great lesson that everyone must hear.

There are tons of good works happening at the congregation. Also, remember the need to develop a logo for the congregation. If you have talent in this department, please use your gifts for the kingdom of God. Please continue to pray for one another and please continue to be involved in the wonderful work that God is doing through us.
