SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL CONGREGATION

One hundred and eighty people attending services. This is encouraging and uplifting. There is a great vibrancy throughout the congregation when our attendance is up. People are happier, friendlier, and better when there are others to fellowship with at church.

Supporting the local congregation is highly important to God and Christians. People are encouraged when others have made a point of being here to worship. God is pleased to see commitment and dedication in his creation. When people support the local congregation everyone is blessed. How does one support the local congregation? There are hundreds of ways, but here are a few simple ones to practice.

Attendance. You might not realize this, but your presences means a lot. It is edifying to look around and see others put the Lord first on Sunday. You coming and simply sitting in your pew motivates others to attend. Your influence is powerful on other people. If you start to skip the services then others will do the same, but if you are faithful in attendance other people will be faithful too. One of the simple gifts that you can give to the local congregation is your presence on Sundays.

Contribution. We need your money. It is that simple. The congregation takes money to operate. Your contribution helps pay for evangelism, the building, ministries, the minister, and the functioning of the congregation. It takes money to run the church. It took money to do the work of the Lord in the first century, and it still takes money to fulfill the purposes of God. In fact the elders have given the congregation a task of a special contribution. We all need to plan to give as we have been prospered this year.

This congregation has a great future. Personally, I see great works in the coming years. There is progress in helping all of us grow closer to the Lord. Let us all stand behind this congregation and support it with all of our hearts. Remember the church was bought with the blood of Christ.
